As China's role in financing global projects has grown, it has become increasingly important for civil society organisations to understand how Chinese banks operate. While China's policy banks are responsible for provising much of China's overseas development finance, commercial banks, especially the large state-owned banks, play a major role in global projects i a wide range of sectors. In this webinar we will focus on China's commercial banking sector, how the major Chinese commercial banks operate and how they are regulated. We will also look at the evolving sustainability requirements applying to the commercial banking sector. We want to share insights on mapping finance flowing to overseas projects, as well as the experience of one campaign's engagement with a Chinese commercial bank.
