AIIB Energy Strategy

The Asian Infrastructur Investment Bank (AIIB) - the "new kid on the block" of  multilateral development banks - wanted to be better than all the other banks. The review of the bank's energy policy, however, lacks priorities for combatting climate change and for sustainable energy systems. Nearly one third of AIIB investments went to the energy sector – mainly into fossil energy.
