The environmental and social impacts of large-scale infrastructure projects are well-known and documented. Among them, involuntary displacement is one of the worst. To quantify the resettlement impacts of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB)'s projects, we conducted a study for the years 2016 – 2022, capturing the Bank's first seven years of operation. We also drew comparisons with the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The results necessitate urgent action. Shareholders need to take the study's findings seriously and stop approving projects which displace hundreds of thousands of people and cause harm, suffering and longterm impoverishment to countless more.
