Reacting to reports that the UK is loosening sanctions on Russian fossil fuels, Urgewald warns that the decision risks signalling to Moscow that Western pressure can be weakened when fuel prices rise.

Europe has never imported this much Russian Arctic LNG from Yamal in the first 4 months of the year, with new Urgewald analysis showing 91 cargoes delivered to the EU and an estimated €3.88 billion paid to Moscow.
