Vennel joined the Urgewald IT-Team as a programmer in August 2026.
He spent nearly a decade in the Philippines as a human rights and environmental advocate and is now continuing this work in Germany through his efforts to defend the rights of migrants. His background in activism is what first attracted him to Urgewald. Here, he contributes his expertise, gained from several years of freelance work in various IT fields and from his additional training in data science and AI, to the database projects.
In his free time, he enjoys running, cooking, and watching crime dramas.
